Associate Attorney
About the role
Become the kind of lawyer clients turn to for advice—not simply documents. Monteforte Law is an established and growing Massachusetts estate planning, elder law and probate firm. For 20 years, we've helped families make important decisions about their assets, their aging, their long-term care, and the people they love. We're looking for an attorney who wants to become an exceptional counselor and advisor to clients. You do not need to arrive as an expert in every area we practice. Estate planning or elder law experience is valuable, but it isn't the most important thing we're looking for. We care about whether you're smart, curious, comfortable working directly with clients, willing to take ownership, receptive to coaching, and motivated to grow into greater responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Work with the legal team on estate planning, trusts, probate, elder law and long-term‑care planning.
- Analyze legal issues.
- Help design estate plans.
- Counsel clients.
- Review and supervise work.
- Take ownership of client matters.
- Lead client planning meetings.
Requirements
- Admitted to practice in Massachusetts or eligible for prompt admission.
- Genuinely enjoy working directly with clients.
- Able to explain complicated subjects in understandable language.
- Want responsibility and the opportunity to earn more of it.
- Confident enough to form and express an opinion, but humble enough to be coached.
- When you don’t know something, your instinct is to figure it out.
- Take ownership of your work rather than waiting to be told every next step.
- Want to become substantially better at counseling and advising clients.
- Care about excellent work and being part of a strong team.
Qualifications
Experience in estate planning, elder law, probate, trusts, tax, real estate, family law, litigation, or another client‑facing practice may be valuable, but specific estate‑planning experience is not required. We’re interested not only in what you’ve already done, but in the attorney you have the potential to become.

- 401(k) with 4% match
- Health benefits
- Flexible PTO with no set limit

- Zero billable hour requirements
- Discretionary bonuses based on productivity
Pay
$90,000–$100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications
