Associate Attorney
Keystone Law Group is a forward-thinking probate law firm based in West Los Angeles (with remote employees across the country), specializing in trust, estate, and conservatorship litigation, administration, and other probate disputes. The firm is a boutique practice with around 50 employees, dedicated to delivering superior client service through a culture of excellence, innovation, collaboration, and camaraderie.
About the role
We are seeking a talented Associate Attorney to enhance our dynamic and growing trust and estate litigation team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in litigation practice and demonstrate key skills such as legal research, persuasive writing, analytical thinking, client service, and teamwork. Associate attorneys will work on an assignment/project basis under the direction of Senior attorneys and Partners and may also be assigned as a handling attorney on smaller matters. The role is fully remote or hybrid.
The firm will provide extensive training during the onboarding process. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, adapt well to firm processes and technology, and be eager to learn a new practice area.
Responsibilities
- Research legal issues for trust and estate litigation matters
- Draft pleadings, discovery, memorandums, motions, and other legal documents
- Assist with trust and estate litigation matters from inception through trial
- Make court appearances in the probate courts
- Assist with probate administrations from initiation of proceedings to discharge of personal representative
- Assist with conservatorship or guardianship matters from initiation of proceedings to representation of conservators or guardians for the duration of these matters
- Handle other projects, as assigned
Requirements
- At least 1-3 years of demonstrated litigation experience in probate law
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Extreme attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment
- CA Bar membership required
Qualifications
- Strong academic record; law review membership highly preferred
Pay
Attorneys may elect to work 1,550 hours or more. Annual base salary is $125,000 to $170,000 based upon an election of 1,750 hours. Keystone offers competitive bonuses.
