Associate Attorney

About the role

This is a fully remote role outside of court appearances. You must live in South Dakota and be admitted to practice law in South Dakota. There are no billable hours and this is a strictly 40-hour-per-week role.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and supervise a heavy and diversified caseload of the firm’s clients in South Dakota
• Communicate with clients regarding their respective matters
• Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, review and draft agreements, etc.
• Communicate with opposing parties to resolve or settle claims
• Conduct legal research related to simple and complex issues in contract law and other areas of consumer law
• Manage litigation cases and resolve legal disputes on behalf of clients by developing agreements, negotiating contracts, setting claims, and advocating for clients in court

Qualifications

• Must be currently admitted to practice law in South Dakota (multi-state admission is a plus)
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm
