About the role
We are seeking an experienced Associate Attorney with a law school degree and active Virginia Bar membership (Maryland or D.C. Bar membership is a plus). This position is designed for candidates with over three years of personal injury law experience in Virginia. The ideal candidate will excel in research and writing, manage deadlines independently, and possess strong interpersonal skills. This full-time role may occasionally require weekend and evening work and includes mentoring less-experienced associates in case evaluation, negotiations, and litigation.
Responsibilities
- Actively review cases in pre-litigation, ensuring medical records are received and investigations are complete
- Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, and staff members
- Evaluate cases, including determining potential for resolution and need for litigation
- Represent clients in circuit and general district court proceedings
- Draft pleadings, discovery, motions
- Negotiate settlements for clients
- Handle administrative and management functions related to the practice of law
Requirements
- Virginia Bar admission required; Maryland or D.C. Bar membership is helpful
- At least three years of personal injury law experience in Virginia
- Familiarity with civil procedure
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build rapport with clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pay
Base salary ranges from $85,000 to $100,000, with first-year total compensation historically ranging from $135,000 to $180,000, including bonuses.
