About the Role

A plaintiff's personal injury law firm in Maryland is seeking an associate attorney with 3-5 years of experience. The role involves handling a variety of legal tasks, with responsibilities and case sizes tailored to the candidate's experience. The firm emphasizes work-life balance, collaboration, and high-quality legal work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research
• Draft lawsuits, discovery responses, motions, oppositions, memoranda, and briefs
• Meet with clients
• Take and defend depositions
• Argue motions
• Try cases (case size dependent on experience)

Requirements

• 3-5 years of legal experience
• Excellent organizational, oral advocacy, and writing skills
• Access to a car
• Admitted to the Maryland Bar or taking the Maryland Bar exam this month
• Admitted to the DC Bar or willing to gain admission
• Ability to work well with others, empathy, energy, and a sense of humor
• Desire to produce first-rate work

Civil defense attorneys looking to switch to plaintiff-side work are encouraged to apply. Experience with law review or trial advocacy courses is a plus but not required.
