About the role
Review existing Treasury Futures and Yield Curves model methodology and improve documentation for analytical models and processes for internal and external consumption. Scope, build, and maintain enhanced performance monitoring for most critical and widely used single security models and address issues when identified. Design, test, and deploy enhanced rates and derivatives financial models. Enhance BlackRock’s Aladdin platform with new security analytics, models, and processes in response to market demands, industry events, and regulatory regime changes. Define processes for quality control and maintenance of analytics models to ensure best-in-class robustness and reliability of Aladdin’s analytics output.
Utilize advanced analytics and communication skills to collaborate with BlackRock’s clients, portfolio and risk managers, and articulate clear financial modeling specifications. Understand production processes and liaise with partner teams to ensure smooth model deployments and maintenance. Resolve complex analytical enquiries with a keen understanding of analytics and models. Mentor and train junior analysts as they build expertise and gain exposure. Stay abreast of global finance, capital markets, geopolitical scenarios, regulations, and technology trends impacting BlackRock.
Responsibilities
- Develop, deploy, and use financial models including Interest Rate & Derivatives: Short Rate Models, Volatility Surfaces, Yield Curves, and Black-Scholes Model (BSM).
- Apply advanced analytics including Futures and Options valuation, fixed income valuation techniques, and interest rate modeling.
- Utilize C++, XML, Linux, SQL, and scripting languages including Perl, Python, and LUA.
- Monitor risk exposures, identify and explain limit breaches, and trace them to specific trades and products.
- Analyze profit and loss drivers using Greeks and other risk sensitivities to provide clear attribution.
- Apply advanced market risk models, including Value-at-Risk (VaR) and conduct stress testing to assess portfolio resilience under extreme scenarios.
- Interpret traders’ strategies, assess market dynamics, and project potential future movements to support informed decision-making.
Requirements
Master’s degree in Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering, Financial Analytics, Mathematics, or a related field and one (1) year of experience as an Associate, Analyst, or a related role. In the alternative, a Bachelor’s degree in the same fields and three (3) years of experience as an Associate, Analyst, or a related role.

Pay
For New York, NY, the salary range for this position is USD $150,000.00 - USD $170,000.00. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
Schedule
BlackRock’s hybrid work model requires employees to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
