About the role

As an Associate Application Consultant at IBM, you will help usher clients into a new age of future-looking technology. You'll assist clients in the selection, implementation, and support of applications, methodology, and tools. You'll be trained to perform as an expert on existing and/or new applications specialized around Cloud, Blockchain, DevOps, Enterprise Applications, and Mobile. You'll help clients integrate enterprise-wide data for improved performance and efficiency. Leveraging a growth mindset, you're ready and willing to deliver business value wherever needed, enabled by IBM’s strategic partner ecosystem and robust technology platforms, including IBM’s Software and Red Hat.

Responsibilities

  • Immerse yourself in primary research and collaborate with dynamic teams assisting clients in navigating market trends and refining competitive strategies.
  • Support operational improvement by designing models for a seamless client experience, contributing to heightened efficiency and effectiveness in operational processes.
  • Support workshops, meetings, and interviews to understand and document requirements, collaborating with diverse teams to capture and synthesize essential information.
  • Gain hands-on experience shadowing product teams and enterprise-wide data integrations. Contribute to data analytics assessments and actively participate in cloud migration and system implementations across major platforms.

  • Interest in one or more of the following types of consulting: strategy, application, business transformation, or experience.
  • Exposure to Cloud native projects (academic, personal, or internship count); Agile ways of working (ambiguous requirements, evolving scope); Programming (read, debug, and explain code).
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Skills

  • Programming fundamentals (Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.).
  • SQL Basics.
  • Networking basics.
  • Terraform/CloudFormation, Linux fundamentals.

Qualifications

  • Preferred major’s degree in a related field (Computer Science, MIS/IT, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Software Engineering, or related fields).
  • Preferred Certifications: AWS Foundational (Cloud or AI Practitioner); Associate, Professional, or Specialty (Aspirational)—in-progress certifications are fine.
  • Operational and consulting mindset (ability to translate technical work to business impact).
  • Strong communication skills (ability to clearly communicate technical concepts—verbal and written).
  • Professional readiness (comfort in client-facing environments).
  • Passion for the use of AI technology for business advancement and enjoyment of experiential learning.
