Associate Application Configuration Analyst
About the role
Puget Sound Energy is seeking an Associate Application Configuration Analyst to join our IT Application Solutions team. This position is part of our ongoing effort to grow and innovate within our energy efficiency programs.
Responsibilities
- Conducts independent research across business units to identify and resolve operational issues while driving strategic process improvements.
- Performs comprehensive functional analysis, requirements definition, application module configuration, and systematic testing to ensure optimal system performance and business alignment.
- Leverages knowledge to develop or modify complex business processes that enhance operational efficiency and support organizational goals.
- Analyzes business and user needs to document detailed requirements, troubleshoot existing system logic challenges, and implement necessary revisions to ensure seamless functionality and user experience.
- Works comprehensively across all phases of systems analysis while evaluating the strategic business implications of technology applications within the current operational environment.
- Facilitates collaborative processes to gather and establish detailed business requirements, and may participate in critical hardware/software selection and vendor evaluation processes.
- Participates actively in project initiation phases by defining high-level requirements and contributing to the development of business strategies, objectives, and key organizational drivers.
- Takes full responsibility for conducting system prototypes, developing comprehensive functional specifications, executing data and function mapping initiatives, and configuring transaction and control tables to support business operations.
- Maintains thorough understanding of complex business processes and workflows to enable effective analysis of business requirements and development of innovative solutions that enhance organizational functions.
- Identifies and resolves critical gaps in business processes while managing security and authorization setup, creating user documentation, designing data interfaces, and overseeing data migration and reconciliation activities.
- Actively participates in the installation and performance tuning of system modifications, as well as implementing data archiving protocols to maintain optimal system performance.
- Ensures strict compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements and other applicable regulatory standards, maintaining the highest levels of operational integrity and risk management throughout all business analysis activities.
- Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.

Requirements
- Two (2) years of degree or certification in a technology-related field or equivalent combination of education, work experience or relevant military experience.
- Familiarity with specialized technical requirements as shown in technical addendum.
- Previous coursework or experience in specialized technical requirements as shown in technical addendum.
- Understanding of one or more component areas relevant to the job.
- Knowledge of systems and/or business analysis design concepts.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
- Must be a “team player” able to work with management in developing and implementing new processes and enabling systems.
- Able to work with end user groups to define application needs and identify feasible solutions.
- Proactive, self-motivated with the ability to motivate others and a customer-focused service attitude.

Benefits
The pay range for this position is $73,000.00 - $115,300.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
