Associate Analyst - Corporate Actions
About the role
We are seeking a candidate with experience in the financial services industry, preferably with a background in dividends (mutual fund or equity), corporate action events—including voluntary/mandatory reorg events—restricted security processes, proxy, and/or shareholder communications. This advisor-facing role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills to support inquiries from advisors, internal teams, and external parties.
Responsibilities
- Leverage technology to automate manual work and simplify processes where feasible to create a scalable, flexible, and efficient infrastructure.
- Understand and interpret regulatory requirements and industry updates in an ever-changing regulatory environment, aligning with the business needs of LPL, our advisors, and other departments.
- Perform daily quality control, exception review processing, and reporting.
- Analyze and manage the firm’s DRIP program, ensuring compliance with industry guidelines.
- Research and escalate allocation issues to domestic and foreign depositaries.
- Reconcile suspense and clearance accounts, resolving breaks, and review security and suspense transactions adhering to established quality control measures.
- Analyze downgraded or new corporate action events, update or draft terms, and communicate key information to advisors for domestic and foreign securities.
- Research restricted stock certificates with third parties, including transfer agents, issuers, and legal counsel, to determine eligibility for restriction removals and re-registrations.
- Partner with financial professionals and external companies to facilitate employee stock option exercises.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external third parties (e.g., contra brokers, transfer agents, issuers, vendors) to resolve issues, broker and ACAT fails, or submit claims.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on operational policies and procedures, assisting with the review and update of training manuals.
- Handle inbound calls and team mailboxes, research inquiries from advisors and service teams, and process service requests.
- Support and contribute to projects and initiatives that align with LPL’s priorities, including participation in UAT.
- Perform other assignments as required by management.
Requirements
- 3+ years of financial and/or brokerage industry experience, preferably in operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.

Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include a BA/BS (or equivalent work experience) and FINRA SIE, 99, or 7 licenses.
Pay
Pay range: $24.71–$41.15/hour. Actual base salary varies based on factors such as relevant skills, prior experience, education, internal peer salaries, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
