About the role
We are seeking an Associate to join our Alternatives Business Management team. This role sits at the center of PIMCO’s private alternatives platform, partnering directly with Portfolio Managers (PMs) to drive the execution and oversight of investment activity from pipeline through close.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with PM and all relevant support groups (Legal/Ops/Finance/Tax/Risk/Compliance/Trading) to ensure all internal policies and processes have been completed prior to close
- Work with Trade Assistants and Trade Compliance to ensure smooth trade flow process
- Coordinate with all groups on the NST checklist process and completion
- Aid PMs with Desk’s deal pipeline management – including deal setup in DealCloud, monitoring and updating settlement information, coordinating with Alts Operations and Alts Finance on timing for liquidity purposes, as well as verifying pipeline info is properly flowing through to downstream reporting and work-streams
- Deal Tagging updates – coordinate with Trade Assistants and Alts Finance on appropriate tagging in the Fund Custodian and Risk systems
- Aid Desk PMs in review of quarterly Origination and Asset Management reporting
- Respond to ad-hoc requests from Portfolio Management and other groups, as necessary
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience; strong, relevant internship experience will be considered
- Exposure to a buy-side or sell-side trading environment preferred
- Working knowledge of Fixed Income. Exposure to residential loan or consumer asset class (unsecured consumer, credit card, student loan, auto, BNPL, solar) desirable
- Compliance related experience and/or legal background a plus
- Strong relationship skills with the ability to work closely with PMs and cross-functional teams
- Excellent communications skills; able to clearly articulate ideas and strategies clearly, both verbally and in writing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Enjoy working collaboratively across the organization to resolve issues
- Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with dv01, DealCloud, Power BI, and iLevel a plus
- Bachelor’s degree and strong academic record with concentration in math, science, finance, economics or other related quantitative/analytical field from a leading, accredited college or university

$ 105,000.00 - $ 115,000.00
