Associate Advisor, Employee Benefits - Middle Market

About the role

The Associate Advisor will work to gain knowledge of the respective line of insurance to successfully build technical and sales expertise. This role begins with an in-depth training program and includes exposure to existing clients, mentorship from experienced Advisors, and learning the firm’s insurance and risk management value proposition to support client needs and passions.

Responsibilities

• Grow your own book of business through generating, prospecting, soliciting, and closing new accounts, as well as retaining clients.
• Identify and generate new sales opportunities through analysis and discovery.
• Participate in sales meetings to review sales activities and prospective customers with leadership.
• Develop a full working knowledge of respective insurance line products and procedures.
• Learn to present proposals in a professional manner, reviewing coverages in detail to ensure client understanding.
• Maintain understanding and knowledge of the insurance industry and underwriting criteria for Insurance Company Partners to effectively communicate with all involved.

Requirements

• Obtain and maintain a 2-15 or 2-20 state insurance license (or be willing and able to obtain within the first 90 days of employment).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong ability to persuade, motivate, and influence others.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to learn appropriate insurance company and firm software systems.
• Demonstrates core values aligned with the firm’s culture.
