About the role

The Associate Actuary, Analytics/Forecasting analyzes and forecasts financial, economic, and other data to provide accurate and timely information for strategic and operational decisions. You will establish metrics, provide data analyses, and work directly to support business intelligence. You will evaluate industry, economic, financial, and market trends to forecast the organization's short, medium, and long-term financial and competitive position. Work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The Value-Based Care Infrastructure Associate Actuary will play a crucial role in supporting the design, implementation, and management of vended complex value-based care initiatives. This position will focus on contracting, implementation, data analysis, and actuarial modeling of value-based care performance expectations. The Associate Actuary will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals in value-based care.

The Associate Actuary ensures data integrity by developing and executing necessary processes and controls around the flow of data. You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs/issues, troubleshoot problems, conduct root cause analysis, and develop cost-effective resolutions for data anomalies. You will begin to influence the department's strategy and make decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding the technical approach for project components. Work is performed without direction, exercising considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate ideas effectively in both written and oral forms

Qualifications

  • MAAA and/or ability to issue Statements of Actuarial Opinion
  • Proficient in SAS, SQL, or Python
  • Comfort in communicating technical concepts to non-actuarial audiences
  • Highly collaborative
  • Knowledge of Value-Based contracts
  • Knowledge of Medicare members, claims, and revenue

Schedule

  • Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
  • This is a remote position with occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings
  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Work at Home Requirements: To ensure effective work, the self-provided internet service must meet the following criteria: at minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps; wireless, wired cable, or DSL connection is suggested.

Pay

The pay range reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job-related skills, knowledge, experience, education, and certifications.

  • $106,900 - $147,000 per year
  • Eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance
