About the role

Zurich is seeking an Associate Actuary or Senior Actuarial Analyst II to support the National Accounts and work out of the Chicago office. This role collaborates with underwriting teams in the Domestic Casualty unit and supports other business unit initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Support and work alongside the market-facing underwriting teams in the Domestic Casualty unit
  • Collaborate with regional business leaders and underwriters on both transactional and strategic account decisions
  • Provide actuarial calculations, including risk transfer analysis, large complex loss forecasts, and unique rating plan structure
  • Partner with underwriters to provide actuarial insights and support the development of account-based model pricing structures
  • Lead more complex analytical work and assist with the development of account-based model pricing structures
  • Communicate insights on profit drivers to business segment leadership, portfolio managers, and underwriters
  • Develop strategic partnerships with business units to drive strategic profit and growth
  • Manage stakeholder demands and ensure predictable and timely completion of work
  • Gain broad exposure to various casualty lines of business, business segments, and customers/prospects
  • Work within an underwriting framework to gain valuable underwriting insights and business knowledge

Requirements

  • Associate Actuary: Bachelors Degree in Mathematics/Statistics or Actuarial Sciences and 5 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area, and ACAS or equivalent international certification
  • Senior Actuarial Analyst II: Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associates Degree, or Bachelors Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area plus FCAS or equivalent international certification, or 10 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area plus ACAS or equivalent international certification

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Mathematics/Statistics or Actuarial Sciences and 5 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area, and ACAS or equivalent international certification
  • Bachelors Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area plus FCAS or equivalent international certification
  • Bachelors Degree and 10 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area plus ACAS or equivalent international certification
