Associate Accountant (Manufacturing, Warehouse and Transportation)

Responsibilities

• Assists in the preparation of financial reports, budgeting, forecasting and analysis.
• Reviews, prepares, and reconciles financial statements and transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
• Analyzes financial and accounting data and processes to identify trends, variances and opportunities for improvement.
• Performs / assists with key accounting tasks including journal entries, analysis, reporting, and reconciliations.
• Supports preparation of reports, graphs, and charts to illustrate and communicate key performance indicators.
• Provides interpretation / explanation of business results to management and other stakeholders.
• Identifies opportunities for process improvements.
• Documents and communicates changes to assigned processes.
• Supports ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed.

Qualifications & Key Requirements

• Entry individual contributor in a professional role.
• Receives detailed instructions and works under close review and supervision in a developmental environment.
• Applies learned theories, concepts, principles, and methodologies to work assignments.
• Majors in accounting or related field preferred but not required.
• Understanding of accounting functions.
• Knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Foundational PC skills (MS Office, software and database skills).
• Fundamental analytical skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Strong verbal / written communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to effectively work with all members of team and management.
• Ability to effectively communicate with team members and management.
• Self-directed, motivated, and able to independently accomplish results with some supervision.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree or role-relevant experience.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

• Function in a fast-paced, office environment.
• Travel by car or plane with overnight stays.
• Occasionally lift 20 lbs or more.
