Responsibilities
- Assists in the preparation of financial reports, budgeting, forecasting and analysis.
- Reviews, prepares, and reconciles financial statements and transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
- Analyzes financial and accounting data and processes to identify trends, variances and opportunities for improvement.
- Performs / assists with key accounting tasks including journal entries, analysis, reporting, and reconciliations.
- Supports preparation of reports, graphs, and charts to illustrate and communicate key performance indicators.
- Provides interpretation / explanation of business results to management and other stakeholders.
- Identifies opportunities for process improvements.
- Documents and communicates changes to assigned processes.
- Supports ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed.
Qualifications & Key Requirements
- Entry individual contributor in a professional role.
- Receives detailed instructions and works under close review and supervision in a developmental environment.
- Applies learned theories, concepts, principles, and methodologies to work assignments.
- Majors in accounting or related field preferred but not required.
- Understanding of accounting functions.
- Knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Foundational PC skills (MS Office, software and database skills).
- Fundamental analytical skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong verbal / written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to effectively work with all members of team and management.
- Ability to effectively communicate with team members and management.
- Self-directed, motivated, and able to independently accomplish results with some supervision.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or role-relevant experience.
Licenses/Certifications
- No licenses/certifications required.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Function in a fast-paced, office environment.
- Travel by car or plane with overnight stays.
- Occasionally lift 20 lbs or more.
