Associate Accountant

About the role

The Associate Accountant (Level 1) position at Northrop Grumman's Small Business Unit, Sonoma Photonics, Inc., is located onsite in Santa Rosa, CA. This role reports to the Business Manager and is responsible for adhering to and communicating accounting and auditing policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provides financial information by researching and analyzing accounting data;
• Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries;
• Documents financial transactions by entering account information;
• Prepare and report cost information to management and customers as well as DCAA/DCMA;
• Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports;
• Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents;
• Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information;
• Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of experience;
• Ability to compute, analyze, and interpret numerical data for reporting purposes;
• Ability to collaborate in a team environment;
• Experience with Microsoft suite of products (such as Word, Outlook, and Excel);
• To obtain and maintain a Secret level DOD security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite), as well as Special Access Program (SAP) within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting;
• Government reporting/compliance experience;
• Familiarity with GAAP, FAR, CAS;
• Demonstrated experience prioritizing multiple responsibilities and/or accomplishing them simultaneously;
• Cost Point experience.

Pay

Annual salary range: $57,300.00 - $85,900.00
