Young Harris College invites applications for a full-time Instructor or tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Kinesiology & Sport, beginning August 1, 2026.

About the role

Candidates must hold at least a master’s degree in Parks, Recreation and Tourism, Community Recreation, Sport Management, or a closely related field; an earned doctorate is preferred. A strong commitment to teaching in an undergraduate, liberal arts setting is essential.

Responsibilities

• Teaching courses such as Health and Wellness; Risk Management in Sport and Recreation; Facility, Area, and Event Management; and Sport and Recreation Management, along with other courses based on departmental needs and the candidate’s areas of expertise.
• Contribute to program development, assessment, and ongoing curricular initiatives.
• Support and help guide the continued growth of majors and minors.
• May have the opportunity to serve as the Program Coordinator for Kinesiology & Sport, depending on departmental needs and the candidate’s qualifications.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• A record of scholarly activity and/or relevant professional experience.
• A commitment to effective teaching, student engagement, and collegial participation in departmental and institutional service.
