Essential Functions and Performance Responsibilities

  • Develop forms/procedures/instructions as needed for most efficient execution and support of AT process and training
  • Communicate how the AT process works to districts, families and educational teams
  • Observe students, evaluate, facilitate assistive technology evaluation and follow up meetings
  • Maintain documentation: initial, follow-up, training reports, checklists, trial period
  • Create training checklists, FAQs, check lists and data collection sheets
  • Support AT trial period with instruction and modeling on how to use/implement technology and collect data
  • Train the programming and application of assistive technology in the classroom for trial period and once AT has been implemented for a student
  • Monitor and support educational teams
  • Provide yearly updates and trainings on how to use and implement assistive technology when a new team begins working with a student who has AT
  • Learn, practice, and use technology/devices
  • Order, maintain and update equipment inventory, devices and warranties
  • Year-end collection and documentation of equipment that is returned to AT inventory
  • Share/distribute information from workshops/conferences to AT discipline staff and educational teams
  • Present trainings/workshops as needed and requested
  • Research application/software for assistive technology
  • Collaborate with the Gavin administration to provide information and assistance in AT to facilitate student access to the curriculum
  • Maintain daily attendance and punctuality according to building/department hours
  • Follow all policies and procedures of Gavin 37
