Emerald Nursing and Rehab Columbus, a leading skilled nursing facility in Columbus, Nebraska, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Aide (CMA) for full-time night shifts (6 p.m. – 6 a.m.).
About the role
As a CMA, you will administer medications, monitor resident health, and ensure a safe, supportive environment. This position is ideal for those who prefer consistent night hours.
Responsibilities
- Accurately administer prescribed medications following facility protocols and physician orders.
- Observe and document changes in residents’ conditions, including vital signs and adverse medication reactions.
- Maintain a clean, organized medication storage area and follow infection control procedures.
- Provide compassionate assistance to residents, addressing their needs and preferences.
- Collaborate with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans.
- Complete all required documentation, including medication records, health observations, and incident reports.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional healthcare or medication administration training is a plus.
- Current certification as a Medication Aide (CMA) as required by Columbus regulations.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in skilled nursing, is preferred but not required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
