About the Role
Richmond County Public Schools is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to serve as Assistant Coach for the Wrestling program at Rappahannock High School. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for wrestling, a commitment to student-athlete development, and the ability to foster a positive and inclusive team culture.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and help to lead the Wrestling program.
- Foster positive communication with parents, athletes, and potential athletes.
- Assist with coordinating off-season camps and conditioning programs.
- Encourage good sportsmanship and enthusiasm for the sport.
- Collaborate with other coaches to ensure a comprehensive approach to athlete development.
- Perform other duties as necessary to support the mission and vision of Richmond County Public Schools.
- Know and understand the basic wrestling rules and regulations.
Requirements
- Prior coaching experience.
- Professional demeanor and demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with diverse individuals.
Skills & Abilities
- Language: Ability to read and interpret professional materials, complete forms, write reports, and communicate effectively.
- Reasoning: Problem-solving and ability to follow written, oral, and diagrammed instructions.
- Other Abilities: Ability to identify student needs and build effective relationships with students, staff, administrators, and parents.
- Physical Demands: Ability to communicate in a busy environment, move around gymnasiums, and read materials.
- Attendance: Regular attendance, including frequent evening and weekend work, is required.
