What You Will Do

The Assistant Wrestling Coach reports directly to the Head Coach and is responsible for assisting in the organization and administration of the Wrestling program in accordance with the rules and regulations of the University, Mid-American Conference and NCAA.

  • Assist in the development of a competitive NCAA Division I Wrestling program
  • Maintain an emphasis on the academic success of the student-athlete
  • Assist the Head Coach with the administration of the program in a manner that promotes the health, safety and welfare of the student-athlete
  • Comply with NCAA rules and report violations to the Director of Athletics or his/her designee

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
  • Previous experience as a NCAA assistant coach, or previous experience as a collegiate head coach at the NCAA Division I, II, or III, NAIA or NJCAA level; 1-2 years of collegiate coaching experience is preferred
  • Evidence of strong organizational and communication skills
  • Current knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
  • A commitment to student-athlete welfare and academic success
