Assistant Waterfront Manager

About the role

This position oversees Dockmasters, Waterfront Supervisors, and general operations of two municipal marinas and surrounding grounds/parks. It involves working closely with the Marina Manager to manage day-to-day operations efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Schedule Dockmasters and Supervisors for appropriate shifts, ensuring proper coverage
• Train Dockmasters and Supervisors at the beginning of the season, and throughout as necessary
• Perform daily cash-outs and follow proper money management or ensure this task has been assigned to a supervisor
• Ensure all deposits go to the bank within a 24-hour timeline of completion
• Prioritize positive and helpful customer service actions daily
• Train other seasonal staff to be helpful and courteous at all times when interacting with the public
• Assign routine maintenance and cleaning of all facilities
• Participate and lead by example with cleaning of all facilities and pumpouts
• Supervise Burlington Harbor and Moorings
• Accept and process transient dockage and mooring fees
• Process other POS operations (Pump outs, Hourly)
• Track and assign light maintenance of Waterfront facilities, including but not limited to: Painting, scraping, graffiti removal, spider web removal
• Evaluate the docking systems, including but not limited to: Bumper repair, cleat repair, daily assessment and daily cleaning
• Trash Removal: Boathouse, Perkins Pier, Waterfront Park, Special Events, Gate Booths, City Hall, Battery Hill, Lake Street, Fishing Pier, Skate park and other parks at request
• Oversight of Park Landscaping: Mowing, weed-whacking, debris removal of select Waterfront areas
• Special Event supervision as needed
• Informs patrons of park and harbor rules and regulations
• Train all gate attendants on proper money handling procedures, and high level of customer service
• Assist in ensuring all seasonal boater contracts and registrations have been received or assign duties to staff
