About the role

Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC is seeking an Assistant Manager, Warehouse to support the Inbound operation in Philadelphia, PA. This role is for 1st shift (7:00AM - 3:30PM, but may adjust based on seasonality of business).

Responsibilities

  • Execute a flawless Distribution Center (DC) operation for Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC.
  • Achieves warehouse human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Meets warehouse operational standards by contributing warehouse information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying warehouse system improvements.
  • Conduct performance evaluations of subordinates and provide constructive and positive feedback as earned.
  • Schedule associates according to the needs of the business to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Lead and drive continuous improvement in various activities of the warehouse, including safety, audit readiness, and efficiencies.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all direct report responsibilities and provide coverage support when needed.
  • Assist DC Manager in meeting warehouse financial standards by providing annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.
  • Manage issues and evaluate continuous improvement opportunities with warehouse team, recommend, and implement departmental policies and procedures, processes and methods.
  • Schedule materials to be moved to and from warehouse, coordinate inventory transfers with related departments.
  • Supervise warehouse associates, monitor work, adhere to company policies/standards, ensure safe use of warehouse equipment, engage with EHS for safety audits and improvements.
  • Deliver supplies and equipment to departments by receiving and transferring items.
  • Organize floor space, adhere to storage design principles, recommend improvements.
  • Foster a strong Safety Culture by enforcing safety policies, training team members, and holding them accountable. Actively support the Safety Committee, collaborate with warehouse leaders to address safety concerns, and work with the EHS Leader to identify and close gaps in safety practices.
  • Enforce operating instructions, troubleshoot breakdowns, require preventive maintenance, call for repairs.
  • Inspect outbound and/or inbound loads to ensure current shipping standards are met and track any discrepancies.
  • Maintain RF and portable printer stock levels and track/repair damaged equipment.
  • Work interdepartmentally to help identify and correct issues.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. BS preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a distribution environment.
  • 5+ years managing a team.
  • Strong customer service orientation, distribution experience required.
  • Highly organized with a focus on meeting deadlines.
  • Forklift certification/License required.
  • Strong communications skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors and other employees of the organization without assistance.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • ERP/SAP experience required.
  • MS Office Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).

Benefits

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $35.00 and $48.13 per hour however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including target bonus plans and discretionary awards. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan, as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employees eligible dependents. Employees will also receive 80 hours of vacation per year, 56 hours of paid sick leave annually, and 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, depending on hire date. Employees may also take up to 12 weeks of paid or unpaid [parental/disability/emergency/etc.] leave, if eligible.
