Assistant Warehouse Manager

About the role

The Assistant Warehouse Manager serves as a key point of contact between customers, the sales team, and the warehouse, ensuring smooth operations. This position involves filing paperwork, delegating tasks, assisting the Warehouse Manager, and stepping in as acting manager when needed. You will also schedule inbound and outbound shipments and foster a positive, constructive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Check and track the status of incoming and outgoing shipments, and schedule accordingly
• Set up outgoing shipments with LTL, courier, and third-party logistics companies
• Communicate with all departments to keep everyone aligned and informed
• Review open order reports and prepare reports for the sales team
• Provide customer service, including daily face-to-face interactions with customers
• Take calls from dispatchers and drivers to schedule incoming shipments
• Complete monthly/annual safety reports and daily cycle counts
• Maintain an orderly and manageable weekly schedule

Qualifications

• Prior management or supervisory experience preferred
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screening
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Experience in logistics, dispatch, and/or warehouse environments preferred
• Knowledge of shingles, windows, and general building products helpful
• Able to lift 40-80 pounds throughout the workday
• Able to walk, bend, lift, and reach for products for up to 8-10 hours per day
• Able to withstand environmental temperatures (winter and summer conditions)
