Assistant Volleyball Coach, Part-Time
Duties/Responsibilities
- Aid in coaching responsibilities during athletic events.
- Attend coaches’ preparatory meetings and implement strategies discussed.
- Scout for and recruit quality student-athletes, coordinating recruiting activities with the Head Coach.
- Work with student-athletes and monitor adherence to rules and regulations regarding conduct, appearance, and behavior.
- Arrange charter bus, charter air, or commercial air transportation.
- Secure ground transportation, arrange team meals, and coordinate meeting spaces for road trips.
- Coordinate practice times and facilities.
- Manage complimentary ticket lists.
- Keep accurate records and provide necessary information for University forms to the business manager.
- Participate in annual continuing education as required by the NCAA, Conference, and/or Institution.
- Adhere to all NCAA, Conference, and Institutional rules and regulations at all times, reporting any violations immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
- Familiarity with OVC and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Proficiency with computer systems, word processing, spreadsheet, database, electronic mail, and Internet software.
- Excellent verbal, written, organizational, management, and administrative skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively with student-athletes, faculty, alumni, and administrative staff.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
- Related playing, coaching, and athletics administration experience preferred.
