Assistant Video Editor

Primary Responsibilities

• Ingest, organize, and log media assets to support efficient workflow.
• Upload all deliverables to the customer distribution platform.
• Ensure all deliverables meet Amazing Life Foundation’s quality and branding standards.
• Assist lead editors in the assembly and refinement of video projects.
• Perform initial rough cuts and prepare sequences for further editing.
• Proofread captions and text-based graphics to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Apply critical thinking to evaluate edits and suggest improvements for pacing, clarity, and storytelling.
• Collaborate with producers and other team members to incorporate feedback and adjust edits as needed.
• Maintain organized project files and ensure secure backups using designated digital asset management systems.
• Complete full edits when called upon with supervision of lead editors.
• Support lead editors by preparing initial rough cuts, proofreading on-screen text elements, and applying critical thinking to evaluate and refine video content.

Skills

• Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid, or similar platforms).
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent proofreading skills with the ability to critically assess on-screen text and graphics.
• Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with postproduction workflows and digital asset management systems.

Requirements

• Be in office in Plano, TX 4 days a week
• 2+ years of postproduction experience
