Assistant Transportation Manager
About the role
We are seeking an Assistant Transportation Manager to join our team. This is a full-time salary position. The role can be based out of our Wilson, NC, Indianapolis, IN, or Bartow, FL office.
Responsibilities
- Aid the Transportation Manager in planning and organizing the daily operations of the Transportation Department by ensuring the implementation of program objectives and department standards.
- Support in the areas of hiring, payroll, route-building, and more as needed.
- Respond to a variety of occurrences such as absent drivers, equipment malfunctions, and other related matters.
- Assume responsibility for Transportation operations in the absence of the Manager.
Requirements
- Preferred: A Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field and three years increasingly responsible experience in transportation operations including one year in a supervisory capacity. Experience in school district transportation operations is preferred.
- Accepted: Associate degree in business administration or a related field and five years increasingly responsible experience in transportation operations including two years in a supervisory capacity to include budgetary oversight. A minimum of 1 years’ experience in Fleet Management and technology applications to include word processing, spreadsheets, and analytical software.
- Maintain an insurable driving record and insurance on own vehicle as well as a CDL, Class A Commercial Driver’s License with P and S endorsements.
- Extensive travel is required.
