ASSISTANT TECHNICIAN-Warehouse

About the Role

Assist in providing support in each of the functional areas of Facility Engineering maintenance, including electrical/mechanical, refrigeration/HVAC, or specialty trades. This role focuses on maintenance, repair, and support for assigned service calls to develop career skills within Facility Engineering while demonstrating the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing various preventive maintenance tasks and procedures for buildings and equipment.
• Develop skills for troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
• Assist in performing component replacement.
• Maintain an accurate and organized inventory of parts.
• Operate equipment, vehicles, powered industrial trucks, and aerial lifts safely.
• Drive independently on a daily basis to assigned stores.
• Clean and maintain company service vehicles, if assigned.
• Communicate orally with store personnel regarding proper equipment use to reduce repeat calls and overtime.
• Utilize the company email system for messaging.
• Complete all repair, labor, parts purchasing, and usage documentation accurately and on time.
• Comply with all department and company policies and procedures.
• Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.

Requirements

• Experience reading schematics.
• Vocational school education or equivalent.
• EPA Type 1 Certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license (must hold and maintain).
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime when necessary.

Physical Demands

• High aptitude for standing and walking endurance.
• Sitting while driving to various stores.
• Lifting and carrying up to 70 pounds.
• Pushing, pulling, climbing ladders of various types, bending, squatting, and kneeling.
• Working in different temperatures inside and outside the store.
