Assistant Team Leader

Primary Responsibilities

• Help train and coach team members
• Provide coaching and support to drive performance
• Promote a positive team environment
• Lead the store in the Team Leader’s absence
• Aid in daily operations for smooth, consistent execution
• Support scheduling, timekeeping, and coverage
• Handle cash, reports, and store paperwork accurately
• Troubleshoot basic equipment issues
• Support sales and inventory management
• Monitor inventory, reduce shrink, and maintain presentation
• Drive sales through promotions and merchandising standards
• Track performance and identify improvement opportunities
• Deliver exceptional customer service on every shift
• Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally
• Keep the store clean, organized, and welcoming
• Comply with company policies and regulatory requirements
• Support food, fuel, and workplace safety standards
• Maintain a safe environment for employees and customers

Requirements & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 6–9 months of assistant manager or related experience
• Strong math, English communication, and problem-solving skills
• Team-oriented, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable transportation and flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Retail, convenience, food service, or supervisory experience preferred
• Willingness to learn and grow into a Team Leader role
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Physical Requirements

• Constant standing, bending and reaching
• Moderate amount of manual dexterity
• Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds
• Comfortable working in varied environments, including outdoor areas during hot summer conditions and cold indoor spaces like walk-in freezers

Employee Incentives

• Employees with 6 months to 3 years of service receive 0.10 cents off a gallon of fuel
• Employees with 3 years to 5 years of service receive 0.30 cents off a gallon of fuel
• Employees with 5+ years of service receive 0.40 cents off a gallon of fuel (maximum 20 gallons and 2 fill-ups per week)
