The Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at Florida International University invites applications to fill a full-time, non-tenure earning, Assistant Teaching Professor position in Mechanical Engineering with focus on Aerospace Engineering starting in Fall 2026.
- Candidates must possess an earned Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, demonstrate the ability to teach large classes and utilize technology in instructional activities.
The successful candidate is expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence in undergraduate and graduate courses (including laboratory courses) in the area of aerospace engineering, contribute to ongoing curriculum enhancement, advise students in senior design projects, and participate in department, college, professional service, and other duties as assigned.
The Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, enrolling more than 1,100 students across its programs, offers an ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, as well as M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical and Materials Engineering.
