ASSISTANT TEACHER, ST. ANTHONY PRESCHOOL AND CHILDCARE, AMBLER, PA, MONTGOMERY COUNTY

About the role

We are a Preschool with a Child Care component located in Ambler, PA, since 2012, close to the center of town. Our school has established an excellent reputation in our community. Our director, staff, teachers, and families work together to guide, nurture, and educate our children from infant to preschool age. Our school continuously fosters a loving, caring, and happy environment for the children in our care. We also continuously value and support our teachers and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting in the direction and overall supervision of a group of children & performs activities that ensure the safety, involvement, and creativity of each child
  • Greet children and parents at drop-off & pick-up times and accompany the children to their classrooms.
  • Works cooperatively with the lead teacher to discuss and aid in the implementation of daily plans & preparation of materials
  • Acquire knowledge of the current curriculum and implement the curriculum practices in the classroom
  • Cover daily small or large group activities for an assigned group of children
  • Assist in collecting required information for ongoing assessments
  • Provide coverage for breaks & dismissal for other staff members
  • Supervise daily lunch and playground activities, field trips & walks
  • Promote individualized attention for children by freeing teachers from routine duties
  • Must possess personal attributes needed to develop trusting relationships with children & adults
  • Interactions expressive of genuine warmth and concern for children, as well as an understanding of their developmental needs
  • Attend staff meetings, professional development, and training sessions
  • Must have the ability to lift a child and lower yourself to the ground and stand without assistance.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety sanitation standards
  • Able to accept changes in schedules & classrooms

Requirements

Required Education: High-School Diploma/GED: with 2 years of experience with children, or 15 credit hours with 1 year of experience with children, or at least 30 credit hours in childhood education or the human service field.

Required Experience: 2 years or 1 year with required credit hours.

Qualifications

Must possess personal attributes needed to develop trusting relationships with children & adults

Interactions expressive of genuine warmth and concern for children, as well as an understanding of their developmental needs

Skills

Ability to lift a child and lower yourself to the ground and stand without assistance.

Pay

Salary Requirements: Depends on Experience & Education

Schedule

Will determine between our Hours of Operation 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
