Assistant Teacher I (Early Learning Classroom)

About the role

The Assistant Teacher I supports teachers in the Integrated Early Learning Center, focusing on students with typical and neuro-diverse abilities. The role involves assisting with program implementation, adapting instruction to meet individual student needs, and providing classroom management under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the implementation of the program and classroom instruction.
• Evaluate students' progress according to their individualized plans.
• Implement effective strategies for academic and behavioral success.
• Provide instruction, supervision, and classroom management under the direction of the supervising teacher.
• Utilize instructional and non-instructional time in a professional manner.
• Contribute to in-service training and staff meetings.
• Support and lead curricular and extra-curricular activities.
• Implement technology in instructional design and delivery as directed by the supervising teacher.

Qualifications

• Must have or be able to obtain the 90-hour Preschool Training Certification within thirty days of hire.
• Associate’s degree or completion of two years of college equivalence required.
• Previous experience working in a classroom of students with disabilities preferred.
• Must possess and maintain CPR certification.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift and carry students requiring assistive and/or adaptive equipment.
• Must be able to lift/carry/restrain students as needed to implement approved behavioral management techniques.
• Must be physically present at the assigned job site.
• Must maintain a calm demeanor throughout daily interactions with students and staff.

Pay

$17.76/Hr. - $28.99/Hr.
