Assistant Teacher HS
About the Role
As a Head Start Assistant Teacher, you will work to ensure comprehensive Head Start services are provided to children and families enrolled in the program. This position utilizes the center environment to assist staff with creating rich learning opportunities that build on daily routines and support each child's development and education.
This position is full-time for 9 months of the year and goes on furlough from May to August.
Requirements
- 18 years old or older
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Current Pre-K CDA or willing to obtain through our program at no cost within 2 years
- Enrolled in a program leading to an Associate or Baccalaureate in Early Childhood Education

About Arkansas Early Learning
Arkansas Early Learning (AEL) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to serve the most vulnerable children ages birth to five and their families throughout the State of Arkansas through Early Head Start and Head Start. We provide transformational learning programs within a childcare setting, offering free infant, toddler, and Pre-K educational childcare/daycare programs serving 21 counties with numerous centers across the state.
AEL is more than just daycare—we are educators implementing an education curriculum as early as 6 weeks old. We also offer a variety of child and family support services in a loving, caring, and safe environment.
