Assistant Teacher - English

About the role

Moulvi Tea Estate Ideal School, a school established & managed by United Trust, is seeking compassionate, resilient, and dedicated English Teachers for our school located within the tea garden community of Giasnagar, Moulvibazar. Our institution serves students from low socioeconomic backgrounds, providing them with quality education to break the cycle of poverty.

Responsibilities

• Classroom Instruction & Literacy Building: Teach foundational English grammar, vocabulary, reading, and spoken skills, simplify complex language concepts for first-generation school learners, and conduct interactive sessions using stories, rhymes, and educational games.
• Curriculum Adaptation & Material Creation: Adapt the National Curriculum (NCTB) to suit low-literacy levels, design low-cost, creative teaching aids using locally available resources, and develop customized worksheets to bridge learning gaps among students.
• Student Support & Mentorship: Provide emotional support and motivation to prevent student dropouts, identify individual learning barriers caused by socioeconomic challenges, and foster a safe, joyful, and hygienic classroom learning environment.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Administration: Counsel tea garden parents regularly on the importance of education and conduct home visits or community meetings to ensure regular attendance.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of classroom teaching experience in high school settings.
• Bachelor of Arts in English.
• Skills: English teaching, education management, teaching, teaching skills, teaching experience, teacher training, undergraduate teaching, language teaching, teacher evaluation.
• A valid IELTS score of 7/7+ will be an added advantage.

Qualifications

A Bachelor of Arts in English is required for this position. Experience in coaching centers, training institutes, or private tutoring will not be counted.
