Assistant Teacher Early Head Start
About the role
The Program Assistant/Assistant Teacher position at Arkansas Early Learning is an entry-level role designed to ensure comprehensive Head Start services are provided to children and families enrolled in the program. This position will utilize the Center environment to assist staff in creating rich learning opportunities that build on daily routines and support each child's development and education.
Responsibilities
- Assist in creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for children.
- Support staff in implementing daily routines and activities that promote children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with families to support children's learning and development both inside and outside the classroom.
- Assist in managing classroom supplies and resources to ensure they meet the needs of the children and families.
- Support administrative tasks as needed, including data entry, record keeping, and communication with families and staff.
Requirements
- Age 18 or older
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for working with children and families
- Positive attitude and ability to maintain a cheerful demeanor
