About the role
The University of Georgia is seeking an Assistant Teacher to join our Child & Family Development Center. This position involves the coordination and implementation of all classroom activities according to the standards of NAEYC, DECAL, and the Child Development Lab. The incumbent works in conjunction with other staff members and under the direction of the Lead Teacher.
Responsibilities
- Aiding the lead teacher in the classroom throughout all daily activities and interactions with children.
- On-going supervision of children.
- Implementation of planned activities, maintaining a safe environment, and supervision.
- Daily assistance in food service to children and supervision during meal times.
- Daily assistance with diapering and/or toilet training while maintaining adequate supervision during bathroom times.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children ages birth to 5 years.
Skills
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills.

Schedule
Monday-Friday; 7:30 – 5:30 pm (variable shifts)
