Assistant Teacher

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Safety & Safeguarding:
  • Maintain a safe and secure learning environment.
  • Familiarize and adhere to Type II state regulations, school policies, emergency procedures, and safeguarding guidelines.
  • Report all observations and incidents promptly.
  • Supervise children closely in various settings.
  • Maintain classroom equipment, materials, and records to meet health and safety standards.
  • Aid in caregiving routines with hygiene and safety protocols.
• Social-Emotional Development:
  • Create a nurturing and respectful environment.
  • Manage behaviors in a calm and supportive manner.
  • Support the development of appropriate social behaviors.
• Instructional Delivery:
  • Adapt activities and materials to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Engage students individually and in small groups.
  • Collaborate with teachers and colleagues to implement curriculum and reinforce learning goals.
• Professionalism & School Engagement:
  • Attend staff meetings, in-service trainings, and professional development.
  • Support the school’s mission, vision, and community values.
  • Participate in school-wide events, team collaborations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Lifting (up to 50 pounds), carrying, squatting, pushing, and/or pulling.
• Sitting, walking, and standing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• A High School Diploma.
