At Innovation & Exploration STEM Early Learning Center (IE), our mission is to provide a safe, inclusive, nurturing, and loving environment for children as they find and develop their strengths. We want to inspire young children to find the joy of learning through a STEM-based curriculum inside and outside of the classroom. We aim to provide opportunities that will instill confidence, self-worth, and morals in every child (how to be a good person). IE’s main purpose is to also provide an appropriate curriculum to balance a child’s social, emotional, physical, and intellectual well-being.
We are seeking an energetic and experienced Preschool Teacher and an Assistant Teacher to join our team. As a Preschool Teacher, you will lead a class of students through the school year, assessing their current academic level and helping with instruction to meet students’ collective and individual needs. As an Assistant Teacher, you will support the head teacher with planning and implementing both whole-classroom and small-group instruction.
Responsibilities
- Tutor and assist students individually or in small groups to help them master assignments and to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers
- Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, schoolyards, and gymnasiums, or on field trips
- Provide extra assistance to students with special needs
- Observe students’ performance and record relevant data to assess progress
- Teach social skills to students
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- A year of previous teaching assistant experience preferred
- High-energy with a love of working with children
- Organized and detail-oriented
