Assistant Teacher

Role And Responsibilities

• Aid in planning and implementing curriculum activities.
• Assist with setting up indoor and outdoor environments.
• Participate in classroom record keeping.
• Supervise and manage a group of children, fostering a nurturing and educational atmosphere.
• Maintain the well-being, health, and safety of children.
• Support the primary teacher in daily activities and evaluate their effectiveness.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and toys daily according to hygiene procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
• Implement weekly activities promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Qualifications And Education Requirements

• At least 18 years old and bondable.
• High School diploma or GED.
• One year of instructional experience in a licensed childcare facility.
• Current child/adult CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Eligible and pass MSDH Background Check.

Physical Requirements

• Walking, squatting, climbing, hearing, sitting, standing, pushing (50 lbs.), lifting (50 lbs.), pulling (50 lbs.), clear speech, and good vision.
• Physically able to participate in high-energy activities with children.
