Assistant Teacher

About the role

Grace Beginnings Academy is seeking part-time and full-time Assistant Teachers for various age groups. Positions are available now or starting August 31, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Aid in implementing Christ-centered lessons and activities based on play and exploration.
• Support daily routines and classroom management.
• Document daily activities and incident/behavior reports.
• Communicate and collaborate with the classroom teacher to support the learning environment.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom.
• Prep learning materials as directed.
• Handle behavioral issues with Christ-centered love, respect, and patience.
• Foster positive relationships with parents.
• Assist in classroom routines and activities when the classroom teacher is absent.
• Attend all required training and staff meetings.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• Experience required: Must meet licensing requirements for an assistant.
• Commitment to prayer and a meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Lifestyle appropriate to a person in public Christian ministry.

• Passionate about supporting and caring for young children in a Christ-centered environment.
• Models Christ-like patience and grace.
• Works collaboratively with the lead teacher.
• Helps support each child's growth in physical, social-emotional, cognitive, and spiritual development.

Pay

• High school student assistants – $18.00/hour.
• Assistant Teachers – starting at $18.50/hour (based on education and experience).

Schedule

• Infant Assistant Teacher (6 weeks- 15 months) - Part-time 12:45p-5:45p.
• Infant to Toddler Assistant Teacher (starts with 6 weeks old and follows to 23 months) - Part-time 7:15a-12:45p or Full-time 9:15a-5:45p.
• Toddler Assistant Teacher (16 months-23 months) - Part-time 12:45p-5:45p.
• Jr. Preschool Assistant Teacher (2-year-olds) - Part-time 7:15a-12:45p OR 12:45p-5:45p.
• Preschool Assistant Teacher (3-year-olds) - Part-time 7:15a-12:45p OR full-time 9:15a-5:45p.
• PreK Assistant Teacher (4-year-olds) - Part-time MWF 7:15a-12:45p OR full-time M-F 7:15-3:45p.
