About the role
At Chroma Early Learning Academy, an Assistant Childcare Teacher supports lead teachers in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young children. This role involves helping to implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development, while ensuring the well-being and supervision of all children in the classroom.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher in the day-to-day care of the children in the classroom.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment aligned with Georgia DECAL and Quality Rated standards.
- Support the implementation of an age-appropriate curriculum that promotes sensory exploration, early communication, and gross motor development.
- Observe and document developmental milestones and communicate regularly with families.
- Follow all licensing and program guidelines related to health, safety, and sanitation.
- Actively participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training required for Quality Rated compliance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (Required).
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).
- Ability to meet all requirements under Georgia’s Bright from the Start and Quality Rated guidelines.
- Passion for early childhood education and the social-emotional well-being of young children.
- Reliable, team-oriented, and committed to continuous learning.
Nice to Have
- In progress, or willingness to obtain CDA, TCC, or paraprofessional certification.

Our company is based out of Alpharetta, GA, operating 24 childcare centers around Metro Atlanta. This is a full-time position located in Lawrenceville, GA.
