ASSISTANT TEACHER
Job Summary
Join Chicago Youth Centers as we serve over 3,000 children and families each year! We are seeking an Assistant Teacher who can impact the community and work with children in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with providing a learning environment for children that promotes learning through all developmental areas (physical, social-emotional, and intellectual)
- Complete developmental screenings, review health records, and observe children’s behavior and development
- Develop and implement weekly lesson plans and daily schedules
- Administer ESI screenings and review children’s medical records
- Prepare and maintain records of individual child growth patterns
- Conduct home visits and conduct conferences with parents
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development or BA Degree in any area with 30 credit hours in Early Childhood Education
- 1-2 years of related experience
- Strong communication and computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Must meet the requirements for an Associate Degree in Early Childhood or Child Development or BA Degree in any area with 30 credit hours Early Childhood or Child Development
Pay & Schedule
$37,440 - $48,000 per year; commensurate with education, credentials & experience
Full Time; Exempt
8:30a - 5:00p; Monday - Friday; schedule varies depending on program needs

About the Role
This is a year-round teaching position. Candidates must be available to work throughout the entire year, including the summer months.
