Assistant Teacher - All Ages

Daily Responsibilities

• Implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans that are individualized to meet the needs of the children in your classroom
• Create a classroom that is fun and supports play, exploration and learning
• Present expectations that are appropriate to the child’s age and developmental level
• Plan and implement activities that develop self-esteem and social skills
• Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment
• Advance students physical and intellectual competence
• Support social and emotional development and provide both positive guidance and reinforcement
• Establish positive and productive relationships with families
• Ensure a well-run, purposeful program responsive to participant needs based on Goddard’s standards of learning through play
• Maintain a commitment of professionalism with students, families, peers and management

Qualifications

• A high school diploma, CDA or currently enrolled in college courses in a related field
• A minimum of 18 years of age
• Prior classroom experience (Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Kindergarten) preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
• Strong written and communication skills
