The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for general support of the Superintendent, supervising a specific part of the project, and ensuring safety, coordination, and proper use and care of tools within their area of responsibility. The Assistant Superintendent may also be assigned as the site safety officer, environmental control officer, or other specialty roles if duly qualified.

Reports to: Superintendent and administratively to the Director of Field Operations.

Responsibilities

• Support of Superintendent
  • Collect subcontractor manpower reports
  • Fill out daily reports
  • Handle deliveries
  • Solve problems; if unable to resolve, escalate to Superintendent
• Supervise Specific Part of Project
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities with help from Superintendent
  • Direct Grunley manpower
  • Read, understand, and communicate information from construction drawings and specifications
• Safety
  • Perform safety meetings
  • Monitor project for unsafe conditions
  • Give direction to correct unsafe conditions
• Coordination
  • Coordinate work with subcontractors
  • Align Grunley work with the project schedule
• Tools
  • Maintain tools
  • Inventory tools

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma
• Experience: Minimum of three (3) years as a Foreman or Field Engineer with knowledge of multiple construction trades. In lieu of a degree, eight (8) years of construction experience with knowledge of multiple trades is required.
• Certifications:
  • 10-hour OSHA certification
  • CPR certification
  • First Aid certification (current or obtainable before project start date)

Skills & Abilities

• Capable of learning new technical and non-technical information and applying it in the field quickly
• Able to take and give direction and communicate clearly with staff at all levels of field operations
• Self-starter who can execute and complete assigned activities independently

Pay

The salary range for this role is $90,000.00–$115,000.00, determined by skills, position, education, experience, market considerations, and geographic location.
