Assistant Superintendent
About the role
Structor Construction is hiring an Assistant Superintendent to work under one of our Superintendents, taking ownership of assigned scopes, phases, and areas while building toward full site authority. This is a development role by design: you'll run real work and be held to real standards, with direct mentorship and progressively larger scope.
Responsibilities
- Assist with direct daily activity for assigned trades, areas, or phases
- Complete daily logs, field reports, and superintendent deliverables
- Conduct safety inspections in your area — and stop work that doesn't meet standard
- Perform QA/QC inspections and document deficiencies through correction
- Coordinate deliveries, laydown, hoisting, and site logistics
- Lead daily huddles for your crews and trade partners
- Track and report schedule progress so impacts get caught early
Qualifications
- 2+ years of commercial construction field experience, including lead or foreman time
- Degree in construction science, construction management, or engineering — or equivalent hands-on experience
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and details
- OSHA 30-Hour, or willingness to obtain within 90 days
- First Aid/CPR, or willingness to obtain (scaffold, trench, fall protection, forklift a plus)
- Valid driver's license
Working Conditions
The essential duties of this position require moderate to heavy lifting and carrying. Must be able to position oneself to work in confined spaces such as trenches, pits, manholes, attics, and tunnels and demonstrate manual dexterity and be able to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Exposure to moderate noise levels, vibrations, and bright lights; and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases; and all climate types including hot and cold temperatures, humidity, rain, snow, etc.
