About the role

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in the staffing, setup, merchandising, pack-up and teardown of a Seasonal Store. The Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in the various tasks involved in the overall operation of a store ensuring maximum sales/profitability by establishing and maintaining Guest Services, developing staff, controlling expenses, shrinkage and all aspects of merchandising and inventory control.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Store Manager in the staffing, setup, merchandising, pack-up and teardown of a Seasonal Store.
  • Serves as a point of contact for employees regarding questions about their schedules, benefits, and other matters.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of training programs for new and existing staff.
  • Manages day-to-day operations to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that all merchandise is displayed in an attractive and organized manner.
  • Monitors inventory levels and assists in managing stock levels to minimize shrinkage.
  • Works closely with the Store Manager to develop and implement strategies to increase sales and profitability.
  • Oversees the maintenance of guest services standards and ensures customer satisfaction.
  • Controls expenses by monitoring spending and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure smooth operations and efficient service delivery.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • A flexible schedule is required.
  • Physical demands include 8+ hours of standing and walking, climbing ladders, setting up fixtures, and lifting/moving up to 50 pounds.
  • Prior retail management experience is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in retail management preferred but not required.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of retail operations and best practices.

Pay

Hourly rate ranges from $17.40 - $17.65 per hour and is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
