About the role

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in the staffing, setup, merchandising, pack-up and teardown of a Seasonal Store. They are responsible for supporting the Store Manager in the various tasks involved in the overall operation of a store ensuring maximum sales/profitability by establishing and maintaining Guest Services, developing staff, controlling expenses, shrinkage and all aspects of merchandising and inventory control.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Store Manager in staffing, setup, merchandising, pack-up and teardown of a Seasonal Store
  • Serves as a point person for the Store Manager in managing day-to-day operations
  • Ensures compliance with store policies and procedures
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with employees to ensure effective team performance
  • Manages guest services and customer interactions
  • Controls expenses, shrinkage and all aspects of merchandising and inventory control
  • Assists in the training and development of staff
  • Oversees the implementation of new programs and initiatives

Requirements

  • Minimum age requirement of 18 years old
  • Prior retail management experience is required
  • Flexible schedule is necessary due to the physical demands of the job
  • Physical demands include 8+ hours of standing and walking, climbing ladders, setting up fixtures, and lifting/moving up to 50 pounds

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of retail operations and principles
  • Experience with store management software and systems

Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Pay

Hourly rate ranges from $17.25 - $17.50 per hour and is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
