About the role
The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in the staffing, setup, merchandising, pack-up and teardown of a Seasonal Store. They are responsible for supporting the Store Manager in the various tasks involved in the overall operation of a store ensuring maximum sales/profitability by establishing and maintaining Guest Services, developing staff, controlling expenses, shrinkage and all aspects of merchandising and inventory control.
Responsibilities
- Supports the Store Manager in staffing, setup, merchandising, pack-up and teardown of a Seasonal Store
- Serves as a point person for the Store Manager in managing day-to-day operations
- Ensures compliance with store policies and procedures
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with employees to ensure effective team performance
- Manages guest services and customer interactions
- Controls expenses, shrinkage and all aspects of merchandising and inventory control
- Assists in the training and development of staff
- Oversees the implementation of new programs and initiatives
Requirements
- Minimum age requirement of 18 years old
- Prior retail management experience is required
- Flexible schedule is necessary due to the physical demands of the job
- Physical demands include 8+ hours of standing and walking, climbing ladders, setting up fixtures, and lifting/moving up to 50 pounds
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of retail operations and principles
- Experience with store management software and systems
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Pay
Hourly rate ranges from $17.25 - $17.50 per hour and is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
