Assistant Store Manager (Douglas, Georgia)
About the role
As an Assistant Manager, you are responsible for providing supervision and oversight for the store operations. You will support leadership to achieve net revenue goals and implement effective scheduling techniques to maximize the staff. You will develop and train leaders and team members and ensure company policies and procedures are followed. You will be hired as an Assistant Manager, however, you will be cross-trained and expected to learn and work in all areas of the retail operation.
Responsibilities
- Trains, develops, and coaches all team members
- Supervises customer services including proper returns, exchanges, and sales
- Ensures staffing and schedule are managed properly, supplies are ordered and available, and housekeeping is performed properly
- Supervises warehouse and receiving to ensure month-end goals are met
- Oversees the production area to ensure donations are properly received, sorted, cleaned, and priced
- Ensures production is properly merchandised for effective selling
- Ensures the production and sales flow are operating effectively and employees are accountable to the processes and procedures set by the company
- Completes task outlines, safety tests, and online training
- Ensures all policies and procedures are executed properly
- Maintains 24/7 responsibilities to respond to alarm codes, opening, and closing protocols
- Opens and closes the store and manages all areas of the retail and warehouse operations, as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Store Manager
Requirements
- Associate degree with two years of management experience, or three years of management experience in lieu of a degree
- Basic math skills
- Basic computer skills
- Prior experience working in a retail or customer service-related environment
- Cash handling experience
- Warehouse experience
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Valid Driver's License
Schedule
A full-time position averages 30-40 hours per week. Hours will fluctuate based on business needs (i.e., seasonal changes, donation volumes, etc.). Operating days will fluctuate based on store location. The Assistant Manager must be available to work any shift Monday through Sunday.
