Duties And Responsibilities
- Aid in creating a pleasant and hospitable work environment and maintaining good customer relationships.
- Be knowledgeable about and ensure compliance with accounting, employee, and store policies.
- Aid the manager in achieving sales, production, and expense budget goals while maintaining profitability.
- Ensure that all products are taken from the backroom and properly displayed on the sales floor.
- Receive applications and participate in interviewing applicants as needed.
- Train, direct, and supervise new and existing personnel, as necessary.
- Conduct regular evaluations of store personnel, highlighting both strengths and areas for improvement.
- Schedule store personnel to ensure full coverage, including breaks, vacations, and other absences.
- In the absence of the manager, post weekly work schedules for all store personnel.
- Complete payroll information biweekly for all store personnel, noting signatures, absenteeism, overtime, etc., and submit to the finance department.
- Attend manager meetings and inform store personnel of new policies and directives.
- Maintain safety measures consistent with The Salvation Army policy and government regulations, and hold staff accountable for compliance.
- Report safety hazards, property damage, and personal injuries to the Administrator, Store Supervisor, or designated individual.
- Occasionally fill in at other store locations to support the work therapy program component of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor and/or Administrator.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in sales.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret simple income and expense reports.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable DMV record.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to motivate a team.
