Assistant Store Manager
About the role
The Assistant in Training (AIT) and Assistant Manager positions at Buckle are integral to fulfilling our mission of providing the best shopping experience for guests. These roles involve a variety of sales, merchandising, and operational tasks, as well as responsibilities such as recruiting new Teammates, training, and motivating existing Teammates.
Responsibilities
- Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide exceptional service.
- Answer questions about the store and its merchandise and recommend appropriate items.
- Help locate or obtain merchandise based on Guest needs and desires.
- Utilize product knowledge and sales education to assist Guests and share knowledge with Teammates.
- Adhere to and promote current sales, promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices.
- Work towards achieving personal sales-per-hour, average sales, and total net sales goals set by Store Management.
- Use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) to achieve goals and manage Buckle credit card and guest connect activities.
- Investigate and expand Guest selection through inventory management, advanced product searches, and iPad apps.
- Maintain and build strong Guest relationships to foster a client-based business model.
- Coach and lead by example, demonstrating high levels of showmanship, customer service, and attentiveness.
- Recognize and communicate Guest levels to the Team and provide business-driven questions to Manager, Team Leaders, and Teammates.
- Plan and execute sales goals with Store Manager, ensuring store's sales performance meets or exceeds standards.
- Execute actions from department calendars and track on the Weekly Delegation Worksheet.
- Show leadership actions during segments and ensure the Guest is involved with product.
- Identify and follow through on all Teammate training needs and execute actions with constantly changing sales focuses.
- Show aptitude in recognizing merchandising opportunities and improving store performance via Performance Tracker.
- Ensure the sales floor is consistently sized and new freight is appropriately displayed.
- Execute and teach all Point of Sale ("POS") procedures and appropriately handle calls from Corporate.
Requirements
To succeed in these roles, candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with a passion for fashion and a desire to learn and grow. Previous retail experience is preferred but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay
The pay range for the Assistant in Training (AIT) and Assistant Manager positions at Buckle is $18-$22 per hour.
