Assistant Store Manager
About the role
The Assistant in Training (AIT) and Assistant Manager positions at Buckle are integral to fulfilling our mission of providing the best shopping experience for guests. These roles involve a variety of sales, merchandising, and operational tasks, as well as responsibilities such as recruiting new Teammates, training and motivating existing Teammates, and acting as the Store Manager in their absence.
Responsibilities
- Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide exceptional service
- Answer questions about the store and merchandise, recommend and select products, and assist with merchandise displays
- Help locate or obtain merchandise based on Guest needs and desires
- Share product knowledge and sales education with Teammates
- Manage and share knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices
- Implement the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) to achieve sales goals
- Investigate and expand Guest selection through inventory management and advanced product searches
- Maintain and build strong Guest relationships to foster a client-based business model
- Coach and motivate new Teammates to meet Buckle’s standards and goals
- Execute all segments to support business goals, including recruitment and training
- Work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Follow Loss Prevention guidelines and handle security risks
- Execute Point of Sale (POS) procedures
Requirements
To succeed in these roles, candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with a passion for fashion and customer service. Previous retail experience is preferred but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with POS systems are beneficial.

Pay
The estimated base rate for the Assistant in Training (AIT) and Assistant Manager positions is $18-$22/hr, with potential for commission on sales.
